Update
Hey Everyone
The Speedy Sign people had trouble reading some of the files but we sorted it out in the end. They run off very old software and neglected to tell me all the details of the file requirement but I went back and made sure everyones was good.
Also it is more like a clear backed sticker with the vinyl lettering attached if that makes sense...the lady I spoke with has told me many different things but everything will look good in the end, so no one stress.
At the moment I am waiting to hear back from them about the two files I had to email from home, and once they have those then it should go ahead.

I found cheeeeep vinyl!!!
Hey Guys
The place with the stickers has a turn around time of a week and so I tried finding something better. And I found a place that will give us a group discount with a vinyl lettering transfer.
there is a $45 start up cost but each A3 will cost $17, so if everyone pays $21 (depending on how many people want it done...so bring along about $25
We will have our lettering back on Friday if I get the files to them on Thursday but we just have to leave them over the weekend before applying them to out projects. If you want any extra stuff done I will be going to the place straight after our meeting so come along if you want extra stuff done and can be done with all our work.
This place is Speedy Signs in New Market
MJ with colour

Not sure whether to go with a fading effect or a more stronger style...? There will be handwriting in the coloured area so that's something I need to consider.

Mission Statements
Hey Everyone
I have phoned around all the places Chris suggested and they all gave me the specifications for the vinyl lettering and it costs roughly $80 per A3/statement and the smallest lettering they can work with is 10-12mm which is actually really big for the lower case lettering.
I received other options such as printing the statements on clear plastic which has no minimum requirements or get A3 clear backed stickers made with the statements on, which only cost $15 each!
There is a couple of day turn around so I personally would like to go with the plastic or stickers so we get the statements in good time before the exhibition. And we can receive a discount for a group print!
Let me know what you guys think. And start getting your statements together. We will have a meeting on Thursday (time to be confirmed) to hand in money and files...Shall I send a template round to everyone??? check your AUT email and also let me know if the template will work.

LineDotLine site almost up
Incase you haven't checked recently the LineDotLine website is sort of up. It doesn't seem to be entirely finished as at the moment you can't view each student's work. But hopefully soon!
so restful
Just some playing around in photoshop with applying to surfaces. It's pretty loud.
Figured I hadn't posted in a while! I'm going to have a few images of possible applications in my final display, though hopefully the fabrics in real life should have the most impact.
I'm going to be printing my swatch book this week and working on my physical exhibition things like measurements and hanging and fun stuff like that.

Vinyl mission statements
Hey Everyone
I think It would be smart if we all sent our mission statements to the same place as one big project to see if we can get some kind of discount. Is it possible for everyone to have their mission statements done this week Wednesday? and one of us could go get a quote or something?

Work-in-progress...

The overall colour-schemes will be black and white like they are now but there will be some colour added to the backgrounds of the final posters. Also still to be added are the "lyrics" in proper handwriting and each artists signature/autograph to the background.

Do Not Betray Our Secret...

I'm going with the big blocks of vector colour because i don't know..guess i feel like the intricacy of the all the detailed lines may get a bit.. repetitive... throughout a whole publication..
These blocks of colour let me play with the image/text relationship more without feeling like i need to be too precious about the drawings themselves.. i guess if they were purely illustrations then i'd go with the BW ones.. but considering typography and layout i think some strong bits of colour might make each page more interesting...
what do you guys think?.. feel free to disagree.. i just wanted to know ppl's opinions :)Thank Y'allllllllllll!

which one?

Hey EveryoneNow that im changing the colours for my outer packaging the text needs to stand out more on the spine. Which one?

This is me attempting to design a cover because I wanted to sit infront of the computer for a change. The title is roughly put together because at this stage all I really want to work out is the colour to have the title and text in book. I don't like black because it clashes with the idea of avoiding black ink. Purple works well with brown ink and does crop up in a few watercolours. What do you think of purple?

My first order turned up and I'm really excited about it!
Here's a sneak peek.
I'm trying to think up some snappy titles.

A bit of colour!

This is the first colour one I'm working on, I'm starting to get precious about all the line work that it is hard to know how much colour to apply. I would like to leave some white space and line but I am on my way to the art store to buy more colour - a variety of green. I have other colours but they wont work in this one.

Oh dear, deer, doe dilemma
I'm insisting on doing a deer design but I don't really feel like any of them are working for me yet. This is probably the closest I have come to final deer. The exact colours aren't exact yet either. This was my first attempt drawing with a drawing tablet - I kind of like it.
Here are some of the others... I think of these I like the pure outlines but feel they might not be gritty enough for what I want. I also think the grey and red works well but am worried it's too similar a version of my pighunt. Feedback super appreciated as I'm feeling stuck on this one.
